PURPOSE: A thermal ice storage type water purifier and a leak detecting method are provided to effectively detect a water leak by the operation of a flow sensor and the water purifier. CONSTITUTION: A thermal ice storage type water purifier comprises the following: a filter unit(110) filtering raw water; a raw water supplying valve(120) maintaining or restricting the supply of raw water to the filter unit; a ice thermal storage type cooling tank(160) cooling purified water from the filter unit by an ice thermal storage method; an extracting unit(190) extracting cold water cooled by the cooling tank; and a controller(C) secluding the raw water supplying valve when a flow sensor(130) is operated without the extraction of the extracting unit.
