PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an active energy ray curable printing ink containing a substance having ultraviolet-shielding function for obtaining printed matter having ultraviolet-shielding function, provided that the printed matter is used for producing a packaging material, wrapping paper, etc. so as to protect and extend shelf-lives of contents therein, prevent oxidation or discoloration of food, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, etc., and prevent decomposition of active ingredients, e.g. medicinal ingredients.SOLUTION: The active energy ray curable printing ink containing "red iron oxide", i.e. a substance having ultraviolet-shielding function, can be provided by using "red iron oxide", i.e. ferric oxide, as an inorganic ultraviolet-shielding agent. The use of "red iron oxide" among inorganic ultraviolet shielding agents facilitates mixing with other inks of similar types having different colors and thus produces variety in color. The functional ink can be printed on UV-transmissive paper, synthetic paper, a plastic film, etc. so as to enable mass production of the printed matter such as the packaging material, etc. having ultraviolet-shielding function within a short time. |
