PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil mist removing apparatus with extended period of removing oil mist with a high efficiency.SOLUTION: The oil mist removing apparatus 10 for removing oil mist contained in exhaust gas from a machine tool by an electrostatic precipitator, includes: discharge electrodes 14 charging the oil mist; dust collection plates 16 for attaching the oil mist; a power source unit 26 applying voltage to the discharge electrodes 14 and dust collection plates 16; electrodes 18, 20 connecting the power source unit 26 to the discharge electrodes 14 and dust collection plates 16; insulators 28, 30 insulating the electrodes 18, 20 from other constitution members; a fan 22 sucking the exhaust gas from the machine tool into an exhaust gas path 17 where the discharge electrodes 14 and dust collection plates 16 are arranged; and a seal air chamber 24 having an opening 31 around the insulators 28, 30, jetting seal air containing no oil mist from the opening 31 for preventing exposure of the insulators 28, 30 to the exhaust gas. |
