PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a percutaneous absorption promoter for selectively promoting (controlling) the percutaneous absorption of a skin external preparation when a specific compound called resorcinol is noticed and the skin external preparation comprising this compound is applied to the skin and efficiently and specifically allowing the skin external preparation to remain at a target site within the skin to increase its effective concentration and a skin external preparation.SOLUTION: The percutaneous absorption promoter for isobutyl resorcinol in a skin external preparation includes a water soluble nonvolatile liquid substance having a solubility parameter of not less than 16. Furthermore, the skin external preparation for promoting the percutaneous absorption of isobutyl resorcinol includes (1) 2-15 mass% percutaneous absorption promotor for isobutyl resorcinol in the skin external preparation which includes a water soluble nonvolatile liquid substance having a solubility parameter of not less than 16, (2) 50-97 mass% water, and (3) 0.001-1 mass% isobutyl resorcinol. |
