PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that achieves improvement in luminance and improvement in contrast (especially, bright-room contrast) in a plasma display panel (PDP).SOLUTION: The PDP is configured as follows. Regarding a structure of an opening of each cell on a plane when viewing each cell from the viewpoint side, when a first aperture ratio (a cell aperture ratio) is set as Acell=Scell/Spitch by using a pitch area Spitch of the cell and an area Scell of an aperture of the cell, for example, it is set such that [0.25≤Acell≤0.55] (the condition 1-2). The cell aperture ratio (Acell) is reduced and a panel reflectance (β) is reduced more than the reduction in luminous efficiency (ηmd), thereby improving basic luminous efficiency (ηfn). |
