A method for realizing Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) channel services, comprises: receiving a session establishment request to join in a channel, sent by a user equipment; identifying the channel type of the channel in which the user requests to join, if the channel type is a unicast channel, translating, according to the multicast address corresponding to the channel, the multicast stream corresponding to the multicast stream address into a unicast stream; playing the unicast stream for the user equipment.
