PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device suppressing a short circuit between both substrates.SOLUTION: The in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device 10 includes a pair of substrates 11, 26 attached to each other with a seal member 33, and a liquid crystal 32 sealed therebetween. A display area 34 is formed on an inner side of the seal member 33, and a non-display area 35 is formed on an outer side of the display area 34. First and second electrodes 21, 25 are formed on the one substrate 11. In the display device 10, a metal light shielding film 28 is formed in a position of the other substrate 26 corresponding to the non-display area 35 on a surface of a side contacting with the liquid crystal 32. A conductive film 31 is formed on a surface opposite to the surface contacting with the liquid crystal 32. The light shielding film 28 formed on the non-display area 35 of the other substrate 26 is connected to a common wiring 14 arranged on the one substrate 11 with a conductive member 36, and the conductive film 31 is connected to a GND potential 41 with a connector 38. The light shielding film 28 formed on the non-display area 35 is formed not to superimpose a part with the connector 38 formed in plane view. |
