PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method which output a high quality image excellent in robustness and having reduced granular feeling as well by a multi-path recording system performing recording in a pixel area of a recording medium based on a plurality of multi-value image data corresponding to a plurality of relative movements.SOLUTION: Quantization processing is executed for second multi-value data corresponding to the second relative movement of the plurality of relative movements, based on first multi-value image data corresponding to the first relative movement of the plurality of relative movements and the quantization processing is executed for the first multi-value image data, based on the second multi-value image data. Thus, the overlapping ratio of a dot recorded by the first relative movement and a dot recorded by the second relative movement is controlled and a high quality image which is excellent in robustness and has reduced granular feeling can be output. |
