PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which performs a vicinity pixel reference operation with high flexibility by a small circuit, and to provide a method for controlling the same.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus processes pixel data to which attribute data is attached by pixel, and has: a plurality of two-dimensional filters 150; assignment means 120, 140 for assigning the pixel data to the two-dimensional filters 150 based on the attribute data; a one-dimensional filter 160 which uses all or part of output from the two-dimensional filters 150 as input; and a selector 170 which selects the output from the two-dimensional filters 150 and output from the one-dimensional filter 160 to be output as the pixel data. |
