PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery suitable for a power source of portable electronic equipment wherein components including a protection circuit module in the secondary battery are joined compactly and stably.SOLUTION: A secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly 111; a can 112 including a body 112a formed by a bottom plate 113 and a side wall 114 extending from the bottom plate; a cap plate 117a for sealing an opening of the body; a protection circuit module 120 joined on the cover plate; and a first cover case 130 for covering the protection circuit module. The can 112 also includes a first extension wall 112b extending from an end of the side wall of the body in the opposite direction to the bottom plate 113. |
