PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fusion welding method and apparatus having high adaptability to variation in the amount of heat generation in a weld zone.SOLUTION: The fusion welding method includes: a step in which a workpiece W with the first and second welding materials Wand Wcombined is arranged between the first and second electrodes 1, 2; a step in which pressurization to the workpiece W starts by moving the second electrode 2; a step in which energization between the first and second electrodes 1, 2 starts with a first current value I; and a step in which, when a displacement amount of the second electrode 2 reaches a predetermined first displacement reference value R, energization is changed from the first current value Ito the second current value I; and a stage in which, when the displacement amount of the second electrode 2 reaches a predetermined second displacement reference value R, energization is stopped. The first displacement reference value Ris set to change by a lapse of time from the start of the energization. |
