<p>A zoom lens system, an image pickup device and a camera each of which comprises a plurality of lens groups each consisting of at least one lens element and has, in the order from the object side to the image side, a first lens group having a negative power and consisting of at least two lens elements and a second lens group having a positive power, wherein in a zooming action from the wide-angle terminal to the telephoto terminal during image pickup, the lens groups are individually moved along the optical axis in such a manner that the interval between the first and second lens groups is reduced, thereby changing the power to satisfy conditions: fw/D1 > 7.5 and Z = fT/fw > 4.0 (where fw is the focal length of the whole system for the wide-angle terminal, fT is the focal length of the whole system for the telephoto terminal, and D1 is the center thickness of the object-side-most lens element of the first lens group).</p> |
