<p>An electronic pen system comprises an electronic pen having a writing portion capable of writing letters and figures on a paper. The electronic pen includes an erasing portion for erasing the written letters and figures and an optical system for obtaining, as electronic data, the write data of the letters and figures written by the writing portion and the erase data of the letters and figures erased by the erasing portion. The writing portion and the erasing portion are each disposed at different positions of the electronic pen. The write data and the erase data include the position information of the written letters and figures and the position information of the erased letters and figures, respectively. The electronic pen system holds correction data for correcting the position information included in the write data and the position information included in the erase data and corrects the position information included in the erase data by using the correction data.</p>
