An optical stereo imaging device (100) comprises a first group of optical imaging lenses (111,112), a second group of optical imaging lenses (114,115), a first splitting prism (113), and a second splitting prism (116). The first group of optical imaging lenses (111,112) and the second group of optical imaging lenses (114,115) are used for simulating eyes to receive external light and minifying the entering images one time in the horizontal direction. The first splitting prism (113) and the second splitting prism (116) refract and reflect the light coming from the first group of optical imaging lenses (111,112) and the second group of optical imaging lenses (114,115) respectively, and make the refracted and reflected light form two juxtaposed images on the imaging plane of the optical imaging device (100). The invention also provides an optical stereo imaging method.
