PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch for AC and DC that is used both for AC and DC distribution systems, openable and closable without arc generation when used for a direct-current distribution system, and facilitates replacement with an existing switch for alternating-current distribution system.SOLUTION: The switch includes a bidirectional semiconductor switch element 51 with a transistor structure connected in series between an input-side first terminal 21 connected to power supplies 2, 3 and an output-side first terminal 41 connected to a load 4, a rectification unit 6 connected in parallel between the first terminal 21 and an input-side second terminal 22, a power supply unit 7 for converting an output voltage from the rectification unit 6 to a predetermined stable voltage, a control unit 8 that entirely controls the switch for AC and DC by power supplied from the power supply unit 7, and a drive unit 9 that brings the bidirectional semiconductor switch element 51 into conduction according to a control signal from the control unit 8. |
