PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent variation in emission luminance even when an organic EL element emits light at any emission gray-level.SOLUTION: An organic EL element is provided with a pixel circuit P which includes a light emitting element, a drive transistor, and a capacitive element, and a control circuit CU. The control circuit CU executes, during a mobility compensation period, a mobility compensation operation by allowing a current corresponding to data potential flow through the drive transistor. The control circuit CU supplies, during an offset potential write period, potential of a value obtained by adding offset potential Voffset corresponding to the value of the data potential to the data potential VD to the gate of the drive transistor, thereby setting a voltage between both ends of the capacitive element to a value where the mobility of the drive transistor is compensated for. The control circuit CU sets the offset potential to a positive value when a designated gray level corresponding to the data potential indicates a gray level higher than a reference gray level, and to a negative value when the designated gray level corresponding to the data potential indicates a gray level lower than the reference gray level. |
