摘要 <p>Disclosed are: a photoelectric conversion element, in which the dissolution of a porous photoelectrode by an electrolyte can be prevented, the effect of surface plasmon resonance can be exerted satisfactorily, and the photoelectric conversion efficiency can be improved to a great extent; and a process for producing the photoelectric conversion element. Specifically disclosed are: a photoelectric conversion element having such a structure that an electrolyte layer (6) is filled between a porous photoelectrode (3) and a counter electrode (4) both formed on a transparent substrate (1), wherein the porous photoelectrode (3) comprises metal/metal oxide microparticles (7) each of which is composed of a core comprising a metal and a shell surrounding the core and comprising a metal oxide; and a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element comprising the porous photoelectrode (3) and a sensitizing dye (8) adsorbed on the surface of the porous photoelectrode (3).</p>
