An organic EL display device (1) is provided with: an element substrate (30); a sealing substrate (20) provided to face the element substrate (30); an organic EL element (4), which is provided on the element substrate (30) between the element substrate (30) and the sealing substrate (20); a sealing material (5), which is provided between the element substrate (30) and the sealing substrate (20) and bonds together the element substrate (30) and the sealing substrate (20) so as to seal the organic EL element (4); and a sealing resin (14), which is formed on the sealing substrate (20) and is provided between the element substrate (30) and the sealing substrate (20), and covers the surface of the organic EL element (4). In the planar direction (X) of the organic EL display device (1), the sealing material (5) and the sealing resin (14) are arranged apart from each other.
