PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a wireless communication based a railway switch are provided to improve the safety of a rail driving operation by directly controlling the rail switch on the ground based on the wireless communication of an on-board system. CONSTITUTION: An access notification unit(230) with respect to a railway switch is installed on the ground. The state display unit of the railway switch(240) informs the state of the railway switch to the access notification unit with respect to the railway switch. A wireless communication unit(210) wirelessly communicates with a train. A railway switch control unit(220) processes data received from the wireless communication unit and controls the operational state of the railway switch.
