PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a solar energy generating apparatus is provided to improve photoelectric conversion efficiency by preventing mechanical damages of the edge area of each layer. CONSTITUTION: A substrate includes an active region and an inactive region which surrounds the active region. A mask(20) is arranged in the inactive region. A rear electrode layer is formed on the active region. A light absorbing layer(300) is formed on the rear electrode layer. A window layer(600) is formed on the light absorbing layer. A groove pattern is formed on the rear electrode layer, the light absorbing layer and the window layer along the outline of the mask. The mask is removed.
