POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT AND PROJECTION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply circuit efficiently suppressing power consumption in a standby mode while preventing upsizing, and also to provide a projection type display device equipped with the power supply circuit.SOLUTION: The power supply circuit is equipped with: a rectification circuit 602 and a power factor improving circuit 603 for rectifying and smoothing an input AC voltage to generate a DC voltage; a switching regulator 604 for converting the DC voltage into an AC voltage; a transformer 605 for stepping down the AC voltage; first switches 609-611 connected between three kinds of secondary windings of the transformer 605 and loads M1-M3 respectively; and a standby control system 613 for OFF controlling the first switches 609-611. The standby control system 613 controls the first switches 609-611 to be OFF in a standby mode.
