PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which has high retardation developing property, exhibits good light resistance and is hardly influenced by humidity fluctuation, and to provide a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device which exhibit good durability.SOLUTION: The optical film contains a compound represented by general formula (1): Ar-B, wherein Arrepresents aryl or heteroaryl; B represents -(L1)p-(L2)q-CR1=CR2-Ar2 or -CR3=CR4-(L3)r-(L4)t-R5; n represents an integer of 1-6, and when n is ≥2, a plurality of symbols B may be the same or different. The polarizing plate and the liquid crystal display device are also provided. |
