PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which does not require a moving mechanism when developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a belt type photoreceptor with color toner, and to provide a compact and inexpensive image forming apparatus that uses the device forming color images.SOLUTION: The developing device 1A includes, at least a developing roller 3A and a doctor roller 2A for forming toner layer thickness and controls so that a rotating direction of the doctor roller 2A may be the same as a rotating direction of the developing roller 3A, when the image is not developed, and controls so that the rotating direction of the doctor roller 2A becomes reverse to the rotating direction of the developing roller 3A, when the image is developed. |
