PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which does not cause trouble such as damage and the leakage of developer, even if excessive developer is supplied to a developing device, and which does not cause deterioration of image quality even if an image of a high printing is continuously printed.SOLUTION: In a housing 11 of the developing device, a conveying member 13 is provided in a developer supply and collection unit 17, and two stirring members 14 and 15 rotating from the bottom to the top at a unit where they are opposed to each other are provided in a developer stirring unit 18. A guide 24 is provided on an inner bottom surface of the housing 11 between the two stirring members 14 and 15. A discharging unit 45 including a developer discharge port 47 is provided on a downstream side of the developer stirring unit 18 in a developer conveying direction of the first stirring member 14. By such constitution, a proper amount of developer can be made to circulate, while part of an excess amount of developer in a circulation conveying path is fed to the discharging unit 45 and is discharged from the developer discharge port 47. Thus, packing of the developer and leakage of the developer in the developing device, and damage or the like of the developing device can be prevented. |
