PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat pump type water heater inhibiting occurrence of a failure caused by accumulation of scale.SOLUTION: In the heat pump type water heater, water taken in an outgoing pipe of a circulation pipe line 50 for hot water storage from a lower part of a hot water storage tank 20 around which heat insulation material 27 is arranged is boiled into hot water, and the hot water is returned to the hot water storage tank from an upper part of the hot water storage tank through a return pipe 50b of the circulation pipe line for hot water storage and is stored. When constructing the heat pump type water heater, at least on an upper part side of the hot water storage tank, the return pipe of the circulation pipe line for hot water storage is arranged on a lateral side of the hot water storage tank and close to the heat insulation material and below the top of the hot water storage tank, the return pipe is turned horizontally or obliquely upward to a hot water storage tank side and is connected to the upper part of the hot water storage tank. |
