PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the possibility of avoiding the contact of a vehicle with an ETC gate during communication failure of an ETC system.SOLUTION: A vehicle control apparatus includes: a vehicle travel control apparatus provided with a distance detecting means for detecting a distance to the preceding vehicle in front of an own vehicle or an obstacle in front by a radar, and an automatic control means for performing automatic control at least, when the distance to the preceding vehicle or the obstacle in front detected by the distance detecting means is shorter than a set distance; and an in-vehicle device for automatic toll collection device for communicating with an automatic toll collection device installed on the road.
