PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove environmental pollution material including PM (particulate matter) and NOx largely contained in exhaust gas of a diesel engine.SOLUTION: An exhaust pipe 1, where exhaust gas from the diesel engine flows, is provided with a filter unit 2 having a filter 17 mounted on the upstream side in a passage of the exhaust gas and including a heater 18, and a nitrogen oxide treating part 3 in which the interior of a reaction chamber 30 is filled with a nitrogen oxide reducing catalyst 31 is provided on the downstream side. The filter unit 2 is provided with a plurality of filter chambers 10, and in one of the filter chambers 10, PM is captured by the filter 17, a reducing agent is passed through the filter, and in the meantime, the heater 18 is operated in the other filter chambers 10 to burn the PM for regeneration. |
