PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a coupling device from rattling when it is in a nonrotatable condition.SOLUTION: A ratchet 10 and a guide 20 forming a reclining device 4 (coupling device) are mutually relatively rotatably assembled, and prevented from rotating by the engagement of three pawls 30. Each of the pawls 30 is circumferentially supported on the guide 20, and pressed to the outside of the radial direction by the rotation of a rotary cam 40, engaging the outside peripheral tooth surfaces 30a with the inside peripheral tooth surface 12a of the ratchet 10 to stop the rotation. One of the three pawls 30 is axially split into a first split pawl 30X and a second split pawl 30Y. Each split pawls 30X and 30Y is pushed to the outside of the radial direction while being pressed against the mutually opposite circumferential sides by the rotary cam 40, expands the circumferential width of the pawls 30 as a whole and engages with the inside peripheral tooth surface 12a of the ratchet 10. |
