PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element capable of preventing luminance irregularity of a luminescent region of the organic EL element and deterioration of an organic layer in the vicinity of a power feed part of an electrode, and formable without using a complicated mask, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The organic layer 2 is laminated on an anode 1, and a cathode 3 is formed on the organic layer 2. This organic EL element has a structure where the organic layer 2 is sandwiched between the anode 1 and the cathode 3. The anode 1 is composed of power feed parts 1a and an electrode region 1b. The cathode 3 is composed of power feed parts 3a and an electrode region 3b. By irradiating the organic layer 2 with ultraviolet light, a P2 region closest to an end of the power feed part 1a of the anode 1 high in volume resistivity is formed to set its resistance value the highest, and a P1 region at the center part of the organic layer 2 is formed to set its resistance value the lowest. |
