ROAMING METHOD FOR MOBILE TERMINAL IN WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK, RELATED ACCESS CONTROLLER AND ACCESS POINT DEVICE

A roaming method for a mobile terminal in a wireless local area network is disclosed, which includes that: a destination wireless access point device receives an access request which is from the mobile terminal and related with roaming; according to the access request, a destination access controller obtains the mobility information of the mobile terminal in its original extended service set, wherein the mobility information includes the information of the related access point device, access controller and mobile agent server of the mobile terminal; according to the obtained mobility information, the destination access controller decides whether the roaming of the mobile terminal is the roaming between different internet protocol (IP) sub-networks or the roaming within a same IP sub-network; if it is decided to be the roaming between different IP sub-networks, the destination access controller performs handoff based on mobile IP; and if it is decided to be the roaming within a same IP sub-network, the destination access controller performs handoff based on the Inter Access Point Protocol (IAPP).
