Disclosed is a light-emitting device which has high luminous efficiency and can emit a light having high color rendering properties. Specifically disclosed is a semiconductor light-emitting device (1) comprising a semiconductor light-emitting element (2) capable of emitting a blue light, a green phosphor (14) capable of absorbing the blue light to emit a green light, and an orange phosphor (13) capable of absorbing the blue light to emit an orange light, wherein each of the emission spectra of fluorescent lights emitted by the green phosphor (14) and the orange phosphor (13) has a peak wavelength falling within the range from 540 to 565 nm inclusive, and there is the relationship represented by the following formula: 0.70 > PI(90)/PI(MAX) > 0.55 wherein PI(MAX) represents the luminous intensity at the peak wavelength and PI(90) represents the luminous intensity at a wavelength 90 nm longer than the peak wavelength.
