PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information-recording medium which is screened by evaluating an off-track record using a predetermined criterion.SOLUTION: The optical information-recording medium 400 includes a recording layer. The recording layer is irradiated with a first beam. The reflected light is received by first photodetectors 102j1 and 102j2 and second photodetectors 102j3 and 102j4 provided along a track direction of the recording layer. The difference between levels of the reflected light detected by the first photodetectors 102j1 and 102j2 and the second photodetectors 102j3 and 102j4 in this case is a first difference. The recording layer is irradiated with a second beam power of 12 mW higher than that of the first beam. The reflected light is received by the first photodetectors 102j1 and 102j2 and the second photodetectors 102j3 and 102j4. The difference between levels of the reflected light detected by the first photodetectors 102j1 and 102j2 and the second photodetectors 102j3 and 102j4 in this case is a second difference. The first and second differences are substantially equal to each other.
