PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane-electrode assembly for a fuel cell which improves durability to repetition of start and stop.SOLUTION: In the membrane-electrode assembly for the fuel cell having a cathode catalyst layer including a cathode catalyst made from platinum or a platinum alloy, a conductive carbon material for carrying the cathode catalyst, and a proton-conductive polymer electrolyte, a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, and an anode catalyst layer including an anode catalyst, a conductive carbon material for carrying the anode catalyst, and a proton-conductive polymer electrolyte, the average thickness (Ya) of the anode catalyst layer is thinner than the average thickness (Yc) of the cathode catalyst layer. |
