PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which makes an output level of a reading element higher when reading reference information of a white reference part in comparison with the case of reading image information of a document.SOLUTION: The image reader 1 includes: a white reference member 28 which is reference information for correcting image information of a document P; a light source 140 for irradiating the white reference member 28 and the document P with light; and a reading element 142 for reading reference information based on first reflected light reflected by the white reference member 28 due to irradiation from the light source 140 and image information based on second reflected light reflected by the document P due to irradiation from the light source 140. The image reader furthermore includes a condensing element 143 comprising a movable member, which condenses at least reflected light Rof reflected light included in the first reflected light on the reading element 142 when reading the reference information, and the condensing element 143 is located in such position that it doesn't condense the second reflected light on the reading element when image information is read. |
