PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod type constant velocity joint capable of reducing the contact pressure of a tripod member when transmitting the torque.SOLUTION: The tripod type constant velocity joint 1 comprises a tripod member 3 in which three tripod shaft parts 31 having a torque transmitting surface 31c of a curved shape with the distance from the center axis C1 being shorter from a root side to a fore end side are formed in a radial manner, an annular roller member 4 in which a contact surface 42b fitted to the tripod shaft parts 31 in an oscillating manner and brought into contact with the torque transmitting surface 31c is formed so that the inside diameter is reduced from the root side of each tripod shaft part 31 toward its fore end side, and an outer race 2 which stores the tripod member 3 and the roller member 4, and has a cylindrical part 20 having guide grooves 20a, 20b for guiding the roller member 4 in the direction of the axis O1 of rotation. |
