According to the present invention, a database management method using a high availability database management system, which can continuously provide a service even upon the occurrence of failure of a DBMS, manages the high availability database management system including a plurality of broker nodes and a plurality of server nodes. The database management method comprises: (a) a step of connecting one of the plurality of broker nodes to a main server node from among the plurality of server nodes upon receipt of a database update request from an application server; and (b) a step of enabling the main server node to process the database update request when the broker node is successfully connected to the main server node, and connecting the broker node to one of the sub-server nodes to enable the sub-server node to process the database update request when the connection of the broker node to the main server node is ended in failure due to a problem with the main server node.
