The material has a steel supporting layer comprising a composite surface and a support roll-plated on the composite surface of the steel supporting layer. The composite surface of the steel supporting layer comprises a groove-like rough surface structure with an orientation that is crossed to a rolling direction, where roughness of the surface structure is preset value. The support is made of aluminum, where the support includes an intermediate layer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sliding bearing element (2) a method for manufacturing a sliding bearing composite material.
