The container has a lateral wall (1) for forming a base (2) that is made of an electrically conducting material, where the base comprises a peripheral portion (2a). An electrically insulating ring member (4) is mounted on the peripheral portion that acts as a support of an electrode plate group (5). An electrically conducting flexible connection part is electrically connected to a closure member (2b) and electrically connected to the electrode plate group. The connection part guides the closure member to a position after rupture of a weakened portion is formed parallel to the position. An independent claim is also included for a sealed secondary cell comprising a container.
