Ester compounds (A), comprising alkyl ester compounds (I), n-octyl-iso-octanoic acid ester, n-decyl-iso-octanoic acid ester, n-decyl-iso-nonanoic acid ester, iso-nonyl-n-decanoic acid ester and n-heptyl-n-dodecanoic acid ester, are new. Ester compounds (A), comprising alkyl ester compounds of formula (R1-C(=O)-O-R2) (I), n-octyl-iso-octanoic acid ester, n-decyl-iso-octanoic acid ester, n-decyl-iso-nonanoic acid ester, iso-nonyl-n-decanoic acid ester and n-heptyl-n-dodecanoic acid ester, are new. Either R1 : linear 7-9C-alkyl; and R2 : linear 9-10C-alkyl; or R1 : 8-9C-alkyl; and R2 : linear 8C-alkyl; or R1 : linear 7-9C-alkyl; and R2 : linear 7C-alkyl; or R1 : 7 or 8C-alkyl; and R2 : 9C-alkyl, with the proviso that if R1 represents a linear alkyl radical, R2 represents a branched alkyl radical or vice versa; or R1, R2 : 8C-alkyl, under the provision that if R1 represents a linear alkyl radical, R2 represents a branched alkyl radical or if R1 represents a branched alkyl radical, R2 represents a linear alkyl radical. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical preparation comprising 0.1-95 wt.% of (A).
