The food-freezer (10) has a chest opening (16) lying in a horizontal plane. The chest opening has two access sides (17,18) lying opposite to each other. A cover (14) is provided for covering the chest opening. The cover has two sliding lids (24,26) sliding in lateral direction of the cover at the longitudinal sides of the cover lying against each other. The sliding lids are operated on two different levels to each other, so that they partially overlap each other in opening position.
