The rotor (10) has permanent magnets (16) held in an accommodating opening (14) of a base body (12) of the rotor, where a press fit exists between the base body and the permanent magnets. The magnets have oversize in extension directions (d2, d4) to the opening. The base body is made of a soft magnetic material i.e. stack of electrical sheets. The magnets are charged by an alternating field generated by coils of a stator during operation of the rotor so that rotation of the rotor relative to the stator is enabled.
