The plug (10) has a cylindrical section (12) protruded via an opening of a flat component i.e. sheet metal, of an automobile. Multiple groups of centering ribs (26) are arranged over a periphery of the cylindrical section distributed at an outer side of the cylindrical section. The centering ribs of one of the groups are arranged in an insertion direction of the plug in the opening at a distance from the centering ribs of the other group. The ribs of the former group are connected with the cylindrical section, and the ribs of the latter group are partially connected with a flange.
