The device (10) has an ignition laser (12) provided with a truncated cone shaped or annular sealing surface (18) at one of ends, and an even bearing surface. Force is introducible into the ignition laser over the bearing surface, where the force works towards the laser end. The bearing surface is arranged at a distance from the sealing surface and lies opposite to the sealing surface. The bearing surface is accessible from a direction that is turned away the laser end. A light conductor (14) connects a pumping light source (16) and the ignition laser. An independent claim is also included for an internal-combustion engine comprising a cylinder head.
