PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp having an enhanced appearance, its manufacturing method, and a luminaire. SOLUTION: This electrodeless discharge lamp La is equipped with a bulb 1 in which protective films 12, 14, and phosphor films 13, 15 to convert ultraviolet rays to visible light are formed on the inner surface of an airtight vessel 2 formed in an almost bulb shape by a translucent material and mercury controlled by a discharge gas and the temperature of the coldest point is sealed in the inside of the airtight vessel 2. A protrusion 10 protruding toward the outside to secure the coldest point is formed on the surface of the bulb 1, and the curvature radius of the boundary portion 10a between the protrusion 10 and the surface of the bulb 1 is controlled to at least 5 mm or longer.
