[Class 123 (ii).] For generating steam or heating water, internal combustion engine exhaust is passed through a waste heat fire-tube boiler having a heating surface of 350 square feet or more per square foot of flue area and of such number of tubes as to increase the back pressure so that the rate of passage of the gases through the tubes is at least 23000 and preferably up to 60000 lb. or more per hour per square foot of flue area. |
