<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination apparatus having a life not influenced by a using environment, capable of easily constructing a lighting device, not needing the waterproof structure of the lighting device itself, and capable of reducing the size of an apparatus body and cost. <P>SOLUTION: In the apparatus body 1, the inside of an outer shell 1a having a translucent part 2 is made to serve as a sealed space 7, and the sealed space 7 is made to have a size capable of housing a discharge lamp having prescribed high brightness, a lamp socket of the discharge lamp, and a prescribed reflection mirror. The small-sized high brightness discharge lamp 9 housed in the apparatus body 1 has efficiency equivalent to that of the prescribed high brightness discharge lamp, but the size is small. An inverter 12 is arranged in a remaining space of the sealed space 7 formed in a state of housing the small-sized high brightness discharge lamp 9, the lamp socket 10 thereof, and a small-sized reflection mirror 11 in the apparatus body 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
