<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-plane reflection type liquid crystal display device which attains various display modes as usage. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of base layers 6a are dotted and disposed in an island-shape in a prescribed array on the surface of a rear side glass substrate 2 on the side opposed to a front side glass substrate 1 and a surface reflection film 6b is deposited covering the base layers 6a and the surface of the rear side glass substrate 2 exposed therebetween. A color filter layer 7 consisting of each color element 7r, 7g and 7b of red, green and blue is layered on the surface of the surface reflection film 6b provided with a projecting and recessed surface according to the array of the base layer 6a so that the surface of the color filter layer 7 is made flat. Therefore, beams a and b are made to be the reflection beams provided with different color purity and luminance even when the beams are respectively made incident in the different color elements having the same color since the color elements have thicknesses different from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
