The device (100) has an elastic valve insert (1), and a retaining device (3) for receiving the valve insert. The valve insert is formed such that the valve insert is switched among three different valve states due to elasticity during path impression and/or force application on the valve insert. The valve states are selected from a group consisting of an opened functional state, sterilization state, check valve state, control or regulation valve state and closed valve state. The valve insert is made of elastomer material and contains impressions. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for controlling or regulating a passage of fluid (2) a method for manufacturing a valve device (3) a method for preparing an external functional device for sterile application.
