PURPOSE: An intra-field scanning line interpolating device, which used a weight value of edge directivity and a device thereof are provided to sense an edge directivity of a pixel and to apply weight central value filter about edge directivity of neighbor pixels of a center pixel, thereby maintaining more accurate edge directivity in a scanning line-interpolated image. CONSTITUTION: A directivity detection filter(101) senses edge directivity information about each pixel of an image for interpolation of an inputted interlaced scanning image. A weighted median filter(102) gives weight value in edge directivity through edge directivity information of pixel to interpolate and a neighboring pixel. A directivity interpolation filter(103) gives a pixel value to interpolate through an average value of two pixels. The two pixel is located in a detected edge direction.
