PURPOSE: A composition containing a photosensitizer with cancer chemotherapeutic agent-chlorine derivative assembly is provided to reduce toxicity of the chemotherapeutic agent. CONSTITUTION: A cancer chemotherapeutic agent-chlorine derivative assembly has a structure of chemical formula 1, 2 or 3. The cancer chemotherapeutic agent is cisplatin or paclitaxel. A composition for treating cancer contains the assembly as an active ingredient. A kit for treating cancer comprises the composition and light source for irradiating 650 nm-800 nm of beam. A photosensitizer contains the assembly.
